Believe it or not, we already have enough income earning or wealth creation ability to transform our financial position to the next level - at least more so than we are aware of. The thing that limits us from becoming much richer than we are right now is not so much our skills, knowledge, education, formal qualifications, social network, business connections, competency or capability. Rather, iot is our identity - how we see ourselves.
Below is a dictionary definition of identity.
"In psychology, sociology, and anthropology, identity is the conception, qualities, beliefs, and expressions that make a person (self-identity) or group (such as national identity and cultural identity) different from others."
I had a friend who told me that he could not drive anything less than a 5 series BMW even though at that time he was just starting a new company with four other partners. He was the largest shareholder and was the managing director. He told me that as a director, it is inappropriate for him to drive a Japanese car. As a result, he had to incur a debt from the bank in order to be driving a brand new BMW running his brand new company. Probably not a good way to start a new company - before he even makes the first dollar of profit.
Identity is the culprit here. It limits the things we can do. It stifles or creativity, reduces our stiffens our flexibility and thereby undermines of our adaptability. Adaptability, is what I believe to be the single most important key to survive and thrive in an increasingly dynamic world! All because of identity.
Identity kills off our chances of breakthrough in all aspects of our lives, not just financially.
If you seriously want to be financially free, do a reality check. Are you clinging on to your identity too strongly for your own good?
